My business philosophy...
My philosophy regarding translation is based on three pillars: passion, high-quality work and professionalism. With these components in harmony and used as a daily motivator, I feel confident in my abilities to offer a rewarding experience for my clients.
PASSION
My career in translation has very much been a choice. It is based on a core love for language. I truly find linguistics and translation quite interesting and enjoy bridging the communication gap through my expertise.
HIGH QUALITY WORK
The truth is translation is not a simple process. Frequently those not in our industry assume it is as simple as translating word for word or sentence for sentence (or even simply clicking ‘Google Translate’); well that's certainly not true...I wish it were!
Along with the appropriate formal education and training, a good translation requires a great deal of logic, intuition and writing skills to make a project read smoothly, be grammatically correct and most importantly, be authentic and accurate in relation to the original text.
Because of this I will never take on a translation project if I feel I do not have the relevant experience, knowledge or skills to deliver the product to the highest possible standard.
PROFESSIONALISM
Professionalism is much about mindset. It is that same “commitment to excellence” mentioned above. It is about doing what I say I am going to do; emailing when I say I will email; returning calls promptly; completing the project by the agreed upon deadline. I believe it is about being reliable and trustworthy.
This is what I strive to be every day...a professional!
